Therapy Services

If your access to counselling or therapy is limited - due to time restraints or geography - our service bridges the gap between you and professional, confidential help.

How it works

By creating an account, you are provided with a secure login and password that will enable you to make a booking and participate in the session.  Prior to going online and entering the counselling session, you will be asked to provide the counsellor with an email outlining the basic issues, circumstances and concerns that you are experiencing. This allows both your counsellor and yourself to spend the time on the internet dealing with the pertinent issues rather than just explaining your issues. In writing down your issues, you are able to gather their thoughts and feelings thus commencing the therapeutic process prior to entry into the chat session. At the conclusion of each counselling session, you are able to download and save a transcript of your chat session and use it for future reference and support.

It is completely private – other than your counsellor, no-one can see or participate in your counselling. The chat room program requires no downloading or installation and is completely secure. No-one need know you are consulting a counsellor and all you need is a computer and internet access.

Who can access online counselling?

Online counselling is open to anyone over the age of 18 regardless of ethnicity, gender, sexual persuasion, political affiliation or religious belief. The service is also suitable for those with a hearing or speech impairment.

Saving you time and money

With online counselling, distance is no barrier to regular consultation. Help and support is easily accessible from your home or work computer, with minimum interruption to your daily routine. This means less cost to you with zero time in travel and waiting. The access cost is only the cost of your internet access.

Quick access

Because help is available at or close to the time of crisis, counsellors can help diffuse the situation and give you support and guidance on the spot. Appointments are available during the day and at night for your convenience.

Making it easier on you

The convenience of online counselling allows less interruption to your daily schedule and provides you with a hard copy transcript of sessions to review later at your own convenience. Through the medium of the internet, your identity remains confidential thus allowing you to participate without inhibition. This has significance in situations where issues are of an extremely private and personal nature.

Previous client comments about online counselling

I had previously avoided going for help, not wanting the rest of my small community knowing all of my problems. But now I can get the professional help I need and no one knows I am receiving it.
Donna Central QLD

Our son was becoming increasingly disrespectful and uncontrollable. Through Nettherapy we were able to get the support and ideas that helped us cope with his behaviour. He still has problems but we are coping better now.
